Apply the deodorant to clean, dry underarms. On busy days or before important events, you can apply a bit more for extra confidence.
Scoop a small amount with your fingertip and apply to clean, dry underarms.
Gently massage in until fully absorbed.
Stick deodorant: On average, it lasts 4–6 weeks, depending on usage. With moderate use, it may last even longer.
Cream deodorant (65 g): Typically lasts 2–3 months, but for those who sweat very little, it can last up to 5–6 months.
If too much is applied and hasn’t absorbed into the skin, it may leave a light trace on dark clothing. We recommend dressing first, then applying deodorant.
If it does get on clothing, it can be easily removed with clean water.
Our stick deodorant is stable at room temperature and in everyday conditions.
Since it’s made with natural ingredients, it may slightly soften in high heat (for example, in direct sunlight, a hot car, or during summer transport). In colder temperatures, it can feel firmer at first but softens quickly with body heat. We recommend storing it at regular room temperature and avoiding long exposure to heat or sunlight.
Our cream deodorant, on the other hand, is more sensitive to temperature changes.
It may soften or even liquefy in warm conditions and become firmer in the cold. This is completely natural and does not affect its effectiveness. If it softens, simply place it in a cooler spot and it will return to its normal texture.
Both CIAO deodorants are equally effective at keeping you fresh - the difference lies mainly in texture, application, and lifestyle preference.
Our stick deodorant is more temperature-resistant. It’s ideal if you live in or often travel to warmer climates, as it stays stable even in higher temperatures. The stick is also slightly gentler on the skin, making it a great choice for sensitive skin or for those who prefer a clean, mess-free application.
Our cream deodorant offers a bit more flexibility in use. You can apply exactly the amount you need - especially helpful during the detox transition period when your body is adjusting from conventional deodorants. The cream also has a mild exfoliating effect, which helps keep pores clear and, over time, may reduce excessive sweating naturally.
Our mini cream deodorant is perfect for testing or for short trips. It’s compact and travel-friendly, but we recommend keeping it out of very hot environments, as it may soften in high temperatures.
Avoid using it immediately after shaving.
If possible, shave the night before. If not, allow at least one hour between shaving and application.
When switching from conventional (often aluminum-based) antiperspirants to a natural deodorant, it may take 1–4 weeks for your body to adjust. This is called the detox period.
During this time:
• You may sweat more - this is normal.
• Stronger odor, itching, or rash may occur - these are temporary and part of your body’s natural cleansing.
• Your skin may need time to adapt to the new formula.
Don’t worry - it will pass! Most people adjust within a few weeks, and the skin's microbiome balances itself.
Tip: During this time, apply the deodorant more regularly, exfoliate underarms 1–2 times a week, and wear breathable, natural fabrics.
Very rarely, some people may notice that a natural deodorant seems less effective even after several months of use. This can happen due to changes in your skin’s pH, body chemistry, hormones, or stress levels - all of which affect how odor-causing bacteria develop. It doesn’t mean the deodorant has stopped working; rather, your skin’s microbiome might just need a small reset.
If this happens, try exfoliating your underarms regularly, taking a short break for a few days, or alternating between two scents or formulas. This helps your skin rebalance and keeps the deodorant performing at its best.
Your body’s chemistry is unique - natural products like CIAO simply work with it, not against it.
No. Our deodorants don’t block sweating - they naturally neutralize odor.
Yes! Our BARE unscented versions are ideal for pregnant and breastfeeding women, and for those with sensitive skin.
Yes! CIAO deodorant is natural and aluminum-free, making it a great option for teens and young people whose skin is often more sensitive and hormonally active.
We especially recommend the unscented BARE version, which contains no essential oils and is extra gentle.
It also helps that CIAO doesn’t block sweating but supports the body’s natural balance — exactly what developing bodies need.
- Remove the cap from the tube.
- Twist the inner ring clockwise to remove it.
- Take out the empty refill.
- Remove the cap from the new refill and place it into the tube.
- Reinsert the inner ring by twisting it counterclockwise.
Note: If the refill feels too hard to twist, warm it briefly in your hand — it will soften slightly and become more flexible.

When you’ve finished using our products, you can easily send the empty glass containers back to us so they can be given a new life.
How it works:
If you have at least 3 empty CIAO glass jars, write to us at info@ciao.ee
to let us know you’d like to return them. Returning jars in sets of three helps reduce the transport footprint and makes the process more environmentally friendly.
We will send you a parcel label and a parcel locker code that you can use to ship the package.
Print out the parcel label, attach it to the package, and take the parcel to a SmartPost locker.
Thank you for helping us protect the environment and support circularity.
